From August 3rd to August 4th, the Ironman Triathlon will take place in Tallinn. Due to the sports event, the journey to the airport may also take a little longer than usually.
The Ironman Triathlon brings along restrictions in parking, traffic and the public transport schedules. Some waiting time may be necessary when crossing the contest tracks. One should be attentive in traffic in Tallinn and its surroundings and carefully plan their route before coming to the airport.
The contest most of all affects the city districts of the Centre, Northern Tallinn and Haabersti, and outside Tallinn, the contest route passes through Keila, Saue and Saku municipality. We suggest everyone who will come to Tallinn Airport from those regions to check the changes in traffic and parking potentially affecting their route, in order to find an alternative route, if necessary.
The organisers of the Ironman Triathlon assure that all the people will surely be able to get to their homes and also out of homes. However, people are asked to consider the possible waiting time and observe the instructions of the traffic regulators. The changes in traffic are managed by licensed regulators who will rely on the instructions given to them, as well as the current situation. The traffic shall be opened as soon as possible immediately after the end of the contest and removal of the traffic control devices.
All the changes in the traffic and downloadable maps are available from the web page of Ironman: https://trismile.ee/liiklus
