The largest Swiss airline, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), will start flying to Tallinn from 25 June, to serve the flights on the route of Tallinn-Zurich-Tallinn. Based on the initial flight schedule, there will be flights twice a week, on Friday and Sunday.
According to Eero Pärgmäe, the Commercial Director of Tallinn Airport, this is long-awaited positive news. “We are pleased to announce that despite the challenging situation in aviation, we are able to open also new routes and welcome new airlines. So far, Zurich has been an unused potential – the interest of Estonians towards flying to Switzerland has been great, but so far, they have had limited resources for that. Also, the Swiss people have shown keen interest in coming to discover Estonia,” Pärgmäe said.
