VAT REFUNDS - EASY AS 1-2-3!




As a traveler residing in a non-EU country you are entitled to claim the VAT back when you bring your purchases back home. Shop in any of the 270 000 stores around the world that offers Tax Free Shopping to tourists, and make your trip even more rewarding.

* The VAT/GST rate in our country: 20%
(Your refund amount is the VAT/GST less an administration fee)

* Minimum spending amount (VAT/GST incl.) in a store per day: 38,36 EUR (600,05 EEK) 

* Maximum time from Tax Refund Cheque being issued to validation by customs: 3 months (plus month of purchase)

Here is how it works when you leave EU through Tallinn Airport:

1. GET IT
Ask the shop staff for a Tax Refund Cheque when paying for your purchases in a store.

2. STAMP IT
Purchases must be exported from EU in an unused condition.

A) Goods carried in the checked-in luggage. Upon departure, prior to check-in, go the customs office (located near to arrivals) for goods inspection. Show your purchases, Refund Cheque and passport to customs officer and have your Refund Cheque stamped.

B) Goods will be taken on board in a hand luggage. After check-in and security control, please call to customs authorities for goods inspection by using internal phone, which is located in the terminal between Gate 5 and Gate 7. Show your purchases, Refund Cheque and passport to customs officer and have your Refund Cheque stamped.

3. CASH IT
After your Refund Cheque has been stamped you can get your VAT refund from EUROSHOP or currency exchange point CHANGE IT, which are located after security control. Show your stamped Tax Refund Cheque and passport to the staff. You can either get the refund put back on your credit card, or you can collect it in cash.
